Celtic tribes of Britain The British (Celtic) tribes in the time of the Romans. The map beneath contains all important Celtic tribes of the British isles. This map is based on the works of the Roman chronicler Ptolemaeus and that's why the tribes that moved from Gaul to Britain (Belgiae, Parisii, Atrebates and Cantiaci) are also mentioned. The small tribes of the British isles are not mentioned here. We know of their existence, but it is almost impossible to discover the precize name and location of these tribes.
